How to Show Your College Student Some Extra Love

Going to college is much more than going to class and getting good grades. It is also about making sure a student has all the college essentials to keep them focused, getting enough sleep, and eating nutritious foods. I know it has been a few minutes since I went to college, but nothing was better than when my parents would come visit to take me shopping or send care packages to make things feel like home.

Whether your college kid is close to home or across the country, WholeLotta Good is the perfect way to send some love whenever you feel they need a pick-me-up or need to replace the essentials. Here are some of my favorite items to send their way. (I highly recommend you explore the entire WholeLotta Good website for different ideas to send monthly to encourage your college student to focus more on studying.)

Food Items – always look for snacks with extra nutrition like fiber, protein and complex carbohydrates for energy.

Personal Care – make sure your college student always have their personal items.

Health – have a few supplies on hand in case your college student needs a little TLC.

Would you like some help learning more about what your college student needs to stay healthier during the school year? Our Hy-Vee dietitians are here to discuss what would be beneficial. We could also help you choose items from WholeLotta Good to send to them. Go to the Hy-Vee Dietitian website and from there you will find the dietitian who covers your area and can set up an appointment for a FREE Discovery Session. This session allows us to learn more about your health and wellness goals and discover which of our many services will be the best fit for your needs.
